Trex 600 (electric and nitro) mods

Between us, Ade Law and I have been working on modding the trex 600 electric to get the most out of the machine. Some of these mods also apply to the 600N.

  • Canopy (electric only)You may find that the black and white 600e canopies are very tight on the grommets with the larger batteries or when using FMA Impad to protect your packs, taking 3mm - 4mm off the bottom will loosen up the fit.
  • DampersNigel Fraser Ker has developed some very nice PTFE dampers, these are still in the beta stage but it is confirmed by myself that they will last more than 30 times longer than the standard dampners. Which is saying something when I killed them on a per flight basis. Most people don't have this problem, I have experienced it a fair amount along with one or two other people.Nigel Fraser Ker's site
  • PhasingFrom my experiences, the phasing is out on the older models of the Trex 600e, the new mixer arms available now that come with the 600 nitro are different and correct the phasing issue, well worth purchasing. Update: Even better now, Align have released an upgraded swash and washout, very nice in flight.
  • FlybarTo improve the feel of the heli it would be worth swapping the flybar for the 440mm version (std is 400mm). This improves the agility of the machine whilst making it very stable. Standard plastic nitro paddles are most suited for the longer flybar. Make sure you have the upper mixers screwed to the 'inner' holes on the flybar cage.
